The Rook’s Funny Story

This is a funny story about a Rook (Thug) in a village. He was so wicked and witty that everybody including his friends knew that he would have manipulated and looted us with his wicked sweet sugary tongue.

Once that rook (Thug) went to meet his two friends in some other village. When the friends of Thug saw him approaching them, they started talking to each other: “Hey man, this thug has always looted us with his wicked mind. What if we loot him this time by using some of our wits?”. Anyway, the Thug greeted his friends and sat with them. One of the Thug’s friends said to him: “we’ll tell you one thing. If you said that it is not true, you are going to give us 100 rupees”. The friends thought that we will tell him something untrue to which the Thug will say No no it’s not true and this way he will give us the money.

The rook said: “Okay tell me what’s the matter?” The friends told him, there is a pond in our village where there lived a locust, and that locust gives this much milk that everybody in the whole village uses it and even we sell it to the markets. So, tell us if it’s true or not? Thug replied: “Yes absolutely it’s true”. Now he was a rook man (thug), if he would have said this that it’s not true, then he would have to pay 100 rupees for it.

Anyway, after meeting his friends, the rook (thug) went to his home and told his wife all the matter and asked her: “You tell me if it’s true or not?” Thug’s wife replied that “Yes, absolutely it’s true”. The thug replied to his wife: “Yes, if I would have answered them that it’s wrong, then I would have to give them 100 rupees”. The thug said my friends have tried to manipulate me, now it’s my turn to manipulate them and I will tell them who is really manipulating and looting.

Then after some days, the thug has again gone to meet those two friends. This time the thug said that I am going to ask you something. If you would say no, then you must give me 10 rupees. They said OKAY ask what it is? The thug said, “Your father has taken 100 rupees from me on some day. Tell me, is it true or not?” Now the two friends got confused and started talking to each other: “If we would say it’s not true, even then we must give him 100 Rs. And if we said that yes, our father has taken from you, even then we have to give it to him”. So, they replied to the thug: “Yes, it’s true our father has taken 100 Rs. from you. So, the thug replies, Ok then give me back my money that your father has taken from me that particular day. So this way, the two friends gave him Rs. 100.

The thug won Rs.100 from them and bought two rabbits of the same color from the market and went to his house. When he went back to his house, he gave Rs. 80 to his wife and told her that I have bought these two rabbits. On her wife’s curiosity, the thug man told her that we are going to make use of two of these rabbits in the future because they both will come again to me some other day. The rook (thug man) made a plan and told his wife that those two friends are going to come on some other day, so what you have to do is cook the meal before time on that particular day. Now the wicked rook (thug) tied one of the rabbits at home and took another rabbit with himself to the farmhouse.

The same thing happened after some days when two of the friends of thug came to his farmhouse to meet him. The Rook (Thug) warmly welcomed them and asked them to sit. The thug said to them: “I will ask and prepare some meal for you. Once the meal is ready, then we will go home”. The thug then said to the rabbit: “Go to the house quickly and ask my wife to prepare a meal for two guests” and then set that rabbit free. Now since the rabbit got free, he just ran into the fields and escaped from the scene. But the two friends wondered how the thug had given an order to the rabbit and that he went straight to the house, but they didn’t know that it was just a plan of a wicked rook. The rook then said to his two friends to just sit and wait for him till he just takes up a round of his fields and until that time the meal would be ready.

Well after 25-30 mins, the thug brought his friends to the home and asked his wife if she had prepared the meal or not? The wife replied to thug that: “Yes the meal was ready for about half an hour, in fact this rabbit out there was screaming and making noise to make food for two guests”. On hearing this, the two friends asked to leave everything and tell us how much you will take for this rabbit? Thug’s wife replied abruptly and said: “No, we can’t give this rabbit to you. It makes our work much easier. It takes commands from the farmhouse to the home. We can’t hand over this precious rabbit to you”. Two of the friends replied: “Take Rs. 5000 from us and give this precious rabbit to us”. Upon this, the thug man said to his wife: “Dear wife, look it’s not a bad deal to do. Take Rs. 5000 and give them this rabbit”.

So, the thug this way has manipulated his friends and looted from them Rs. 5000 and in return gave them a rabbit. Now the Rook (Thug) came to his wife and told her that those two friends will again come to them and ask her to give him some money as he wanted to buy a goat. So, the thug bought the goat and tied it with a hook in the home. The thug made a wicked plan and asked his wife that when I will bring those two friends with me at home and ask you to cook food for them, then start quarreling with me and say: “I am not going to cook food for them, you always bring them to home and asks me to cook food”. He also added: “And then take this goat with you inside the room and make sure that the friends won’t see you taking that goat inside the room.”

On the other side, the two friends are waiting for some guests to make so that they may order the rabbit the same way and to show everyone that this rabbit is worth keeping. So, one day a guest came to their farmhouse to meet them. The two friends said to the rabbit to go and ask their wives to prepare some meal for the guest and untied his rope. The rabbit just escaped from the scene.

After 25-30 mins, the two friends took a guest with them to their home and asked their wives if the meal was ready or not. The wives replied: “They didn’t prepare the meal”. The men said: “Isn’t it that the rabbit came up and delivered his message to make food?”. Upon asking, the wives replied: “Are you gone mad? Have you ever seen any rabbit deliver any message like this”? Well, the guest also laments them for their stupidity. The two friends again got trapped by the Thug man and said to themselves: “When he came to us, he took Rs. 100 and when we went to him, we gave Rs. 5000 to him”.

The two friends got fierce and went straight to the thug man again to his farmhouse. This time there was no rabbit, but the thug man offered to both of them to just come and join him for lunch. Anyway, he brought both to his house and asked his wife to prepare some meal for his friends. As planned before, the thug man’s wife started to quarrel with him and said: “I am not going to cook food for them, you always bring them to home and ask me to cook food”. And then she took the goat with her and went straight to her room. The thug man took his chopper and went to the room saying: “She is going to die today. I won’t be leaving her this time.” The thug man entered the room and killed that goat. He asked his wife to lay down over the spilt blood and act as if you were dead. The two friends came into the room and said to the thug man: “Are you mad? Why did you kill her?” The thug man replied: “Oh it’s nothing, I do it 70 times a day and she wakes up 70 times a day”. The two men didn’t believe him and said how do you do it? He said: “I have some magical sticks with me. When I will put these sticks around the corner, then she will wake up obeying me like ever before”.  He does the same in front of his friends and she woke up saying: “O my dear husband, I’ll just cook the meal for you in 5 minutes.” The friends became so astonished that they demanded for those sticks and offered one lac to the thug man for those sticks. The thug man persuaded his wife and asked her: “Dear wife, give these sticks to them in return of one lac”. And so, the friends took those magical sticks with them to home.

Now the two friends wanted to test these sticks with their wives, and they found some reason to quarrel with them. What they do next is they take the chopper with them and kill their own wives bitterly. The neighbors gathered there and started lamenting to those two men saying: “Are you mad? Why did you just kill your wives?” The men replied: “Oh, it’s not a big deal, we do this 70 times in a day and every time they wake up like being an obedient wife”. The neighbors didn’t believe them and asked to show them instantly. Upon their neighbor’s request, they fixed the magical four sticks around the corner and asked their wives to wake but they didn’t because those sticks were not magical in reality. They were just a piece of wood and that their friend (thug man) had looted them for one lac.

Now this time, they both are burning with anger and went furiously towards thug’s farmhouse saying: “This is enough. We will kill him, and we are not going to leave him today.” The two friends tied to the thug man and said to him: “We are not going to leave you today thug man. You came to us and took Rs. 100 from us. When we came to you at first, you took Rs. 5000 from us and second you looted us with Rs. 1 lac. We’re not going to leave you today; we’ll throw you into the depth of the river”.

Somehow, they both managed to take him near the river and started searching for a place where there is much depth in the river in order to throw him. In the meantime, a shepherd came across from the same route along with his cattle and asked the thug man why are you tied up here? '' The thug man replied: “The two men out there who are searching for the depth of this river, they have tied me up because I have rejected for their sister’s proposal, and they are keep on insisting me to marry with their sister, but I don’t want to, that’s why they have tied me up”.

The shepherd agreed to marry their sister, so the thug man tied him with ropes there and took his cattle with him to the home. When the two men came to throw the bench of the shepherd into the deep river, the shepherd started to yell loudly saying: “I will get married to your sister”. The two men got very furious on hearing this and threw him into the deep river.

When the two men were on their way back home, they saw the thug man carrying cattle to his house. The two men got very astonished to see him there. They reached the thug man’s house and asked him: “We’ve just thrown you into the deep river by ourselves, how did you manage to come out of the deep river?” The thug man replied, “You two have thrown me in the wrong place where there’s only the cattle. If you would have thrown me a little further away, I would have gotten so much more like cows and buffaloes out there”. The two men got shocked to hear it and requested the thug man to take them there as well. So the thug man tied them up both with the ropes and threw both of them into the deep river and this way the two men have received the reward of their greed by paying off with their lives.

So, the moral of the story is, never become too greedy in your life that the rooks like this thug man can manipulate you and you have to pay for your stupidity with your own precious life. Never seek for the short cuts in your life that the thug men around you can loot you and you didn’t come to know about it.
